NAHB
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Housing Market Index (HMI) rates the relative level of current and future single-family home sales. The data is compiled from a survey of around 900 home builders. A reading above 50 indicates a favorable outlook on home sales; below indicates a negative outlook.
 
NATIONAL INCOME
NI comprises the value of all products and services generated within a country in one year i.e. its Gross Domestic Product together with its net income received from other countries notably interest and dividends.
 
NATIONAL OUTPUT
This is an estimate of the total economic activity in a country or region.
 
NET ASSET VALUE
NAV is a measure of a fund‟s worth. It is the difference between its assets and liabilities.
 
NIFTY FIFTY
Informal term used to refer to 50 popular large stocks on in the 1960s and 1970s that were widely regarded as solid long term growth stocks.
 
NOMINAL POSITION
Small position that does not have a marked affect on overall portfolio.
 
NON-FARM PAYROLL
Generally released on the first Friday of the month, this figure is the monthly number of jobs created or lost in the non farming sector. This is regarded as the most important economic statistic, and a wildly different figure from that expected can cause financial markets to move very quickly.
